The busyness of the mind

Random thoughts where do you all come from?

I could be working on a project and all of the sudden a thought comes gushing through my mind. At one time I just let it push me around like the wind as the mind wondered recklessly at times were ever it wanted to.

The test: When you wake up in the morning and your mind is clear how long can you keep it that way? In other words after you first awaken you have no thoughts running through you. When you see or feel that first thought coming in just simply reject it. Better yet when the first random thought comes to mind resist it. Don’t let it in!

OK now that you have taken this test how long did you last before the random thoughts started to flow with or without you?

If you had any success holding off the random thoughts when you first woke up that’s great! This may have given you your first insight to just how strong the current of random thought flows within you.

This is just an exercise to show you that you are more than just a thought.


OK now what do you do next!

Begin to wade out of the stream of random thoughts and make your way to the shoreline. You’re now sitting at the shoreline watching the mighty river of your thoughts flow by you and realize you’re not struggling like you were before. There is a shift from being carried away to being an observer of the thoughts that flow past. As you settle in a new power is given or experienced within. You’re actually resting from the random thoughts of the mind! You’re no longer its slave! You see it now for what it is...It is the busyness of the mind disconnected from Christ within you!

So now you ask what is the shore?  The shore to me is a part of the eternal life of Christ living within me…

To let go of the self is to live with Christ in me!

Experiencing God


You can find God where you are standing right this second. He is standing right inside of you living you now and this is the time for you to stand in Him. It’s kind of a …behold, you are in the presence of God in the moment of the now kind of experience!!! The catch is it has to be accomplished by faith! By faith you are standing in His presence!

Strong "in" the Lord


What does it mean to be (in)? Simply I am no longer living in the “me” I am now living in the life of Christ!
Ephesians 6:10 thru 20

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. live in the presence of God

Finding the moment that allows one to live in the presence of God starts with a first encounter.
The first encounter is the most difficult as it normally requires complete humility.
Humility comes through many forms like broken dreams or dreams that come true when you know you had nothing or very little to do with making it happen.
Yet being humble no matter how you arrive is normally found in some type of brokenness.
Brokenness knows that the self independently amounts to almost nothing and that we are basically alone in the nothingness of space and time.
Finding this passage of brokenness leads us to our greatest breakthrough as it distracts us momentarily from the self.
The breakthrough comes in this momentarily abandonment allowing us to see deeper into the inner vastness of what’s beyond the immediate self.
What is beyond the self?
Its Gods own spirit living within you.
So it is by faith we enter into the vastness of He who lives in us. We beging to see that God is there in every moment one exists.
Joy is the fruit of knowing you are never alone even when you’re not thinking of Him.
The kingdom of God is at hand and all you have to do is live Him!
Open your eyes within and see!

Finding God!

Finding the end of self is the beginning of finding God. Exchange the life you are living for the life of God. Better to live in the life of Christ than the hopelessness of the self. This is a very difficult concept if you’re just a thinker. One must look inward and find the inner life and workings of the spirit. Basically the helpless soul seeks life outside of its self and once God is found the soul never fully desires to be what it used to be. The soul is new with the presents of God being the new life lived. Letting go of the old self is the greatest challenge and the finding of the new self in God is the endless joy of discovery, wonder and love.

Christ’s life becomes what you live!

Letting go of what we think we have or think we are is the hardest thing to do. Christ showed us by His many examples how to let go of the self and live in the Father. Now Christ is asking us to take up our cross. Just as He did and let go of our old self to join Him in the Fathers eternal life. You may read this and it may frighten you! But let me tell you from my personal experience when you start to let go an amazing thing happens. You begin to experience the life of Christ…that is when you let go of your old life Christ’s life becomes what you live. Then a peace overcomes you that can be described as “JOY” This is the step one must consider and possibly act upon in order to experience a deeper sense of the presence of God. God Bless!

How do you know if God exists?


I know that I am alive…I exist…I am writing this letter! And the same with you as you are reading it..you exist.
What are the insurmountable odds and the countless equations that I exist and truly have being? It’s like asking how big the universe is… it’s a countless equation that no one really knows. So too are the odds of our individual existence.
The odds are imposable that I exist but I somehow have beaten all odds for I exist and my existence is proof that I exist. It is this understanding that because I have an existence so to must God exist.
It’s rather simple: if I exist then God must exist. How can I say I exist and that God doesn’t exists? I can’t because the shear fact that I exist is logical and would facilitate an acceptable conclusion that God exists too.
So the next time someone asks you: how do you know if God exists? Tell them because they exist!

The way they held each other!

A women and her young daughter were destitute and traveling to another country where they hoped to find a new life.
Three men stole them while they were camping.
They were brought to a city and sold as slaves; each to a different owner.
They were given one minute more together, before their fates became unknown.
My soul clings to God like that, the way they held each other.
