Apple of your eye

These cold clear winter nights I stand looking up into space to see the overwhelming beauty of the moon and stars above.  Thank you Father God for the privilege of looking at the night sky with me…amazingly through me,  we look outward together! Amazing!!!

The busyness of the mind

Random thoughts where do you all come from?

I could be working on a project and all of the sudden a thought comes gushing through my mind. At one time I just let it push me around like the wind as the mind wondered recklessly at times were ever it wanted to.

The test: When you wake up in the morning and your mind is clear how long can you keep it that way? In other words after you first awaken you have no thoughts running through you. When you see or feel that first thought coming in just simply reject it. Better yet when the first random thought comes to mind resist it. Don’t let it in!

OK now that you have taken this test how long did you last before the random thoughts started to flow with or without you?

If you had any success holding off the random thoughts when you first woke up that’s great! This may have given you your first insight to just how strong the current of random thought flows within you.

This is just an exercise to show you that you are more than just a thought.


OK now what do you do next!

Begin to wade out of the stream of random thoughts and make your way to the shoreline. You’re now sitting at the shoreline watching the mighty river of your thoughts flow by you and realize you’re not struggling like you were before. There is a shift from being carried away to being an observer of the thoughts that flow past. As you settle in a new power is given or experienced within. You’re actually resting from the random thoughts of the mind! You’re no longer its slave! You see it now for what it is...It is the busyness of the mind disconnected from Christ within you!

So now you ask what is the shore?  The shore to me is a part of the eternal life of Christ living within me…

To let go of the self is to live with Christ in me!

I am resting in Christ!

James 1:2-8 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Experiencing God

You can find God where you are standing right this second. He is standing right inside of you living you now and this is the time for you to stand in Him. It’s kind of a …behold, you are in the presence of God in the moment of the now kind of experience!!! The catch is it has to be accomplished by faith! By faith you are standing in His presence!

1 Thessalonians 3:8 thru 9  8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. 9How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you. NIV

Strong "in" the Lord

What does it mean to be (in)? Simply I am no longer living in the “me” I am now living in the life of Christ!

Ephesians 6:10 thru 20

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. live in the presence of God

Finding the moment that allows one to live in the presence of God starts with a first encounter.

The first encounter is the most difficult as it normally requires complete humility.

Humility comes through many forms like broken dreams or dreams that come true when you know you had nothing or very little to do with making it happen.

Yet being humble no matter how you arrive is normally found in some type of brokenness.

Brokenness knows that the self independently amounts to almost nothing and that we are basically alone in the nothingness of space and time.

Finding this passage of brokenness leads us to our greatest breakthrough as it distracts us momentarily from the self.

The breakthrough comes in this momentarily abandonment allowing us to see deeper into the inner vastness of what’s beyond the immediate self.

What is beyond the self?

Its Gods own spirit living within you.

So it is by faith we enter into the vastness of He who lives in us. We beging to see that God is there in every moment one exists.

Joy is the fruit of knowing you are never alone even when you’re not thinking of Him.

The kingdom of God is at hand and all you have to do is live Him!

Open your eyes within and see!

Finding God!

Finding the end of self is the beginning of finding God. Exchange the life you are living for the life of God. Better to live in the life of Christ than the hopelessness of the self. This is a very difficult concept if you’re just a thinker. One must look inward and find the inner life and workings of the spirit. Basically the helpless soul seeks life outside of its self and once God is found the soul never fully desires to be what it used to be. The soul is new with the presents of God being the new life lived. Letting go of the old self is the greatest challenge and the finding of the new self in God is the endless joy of discovery, wonder and love.

Christ’s life becomes what you live!

Letting go of what we think we have or think we are is the hardest thing to do. Christ showed us by His many examples how to let go of the self and live in the Father. Now Christ is asking us to take up our cross. Just as He did and let go of our old self to join Him in the Fathers eternal life. You may read this and it may frighten you! But let me tell you from my personal experience when you start to let go an amazing thing happens. You begin to experience the life of Christ…that is when you let go of your old life Christ’s life becomes what you live. Then a peace overcomes you that can be described as “JOY” This is the step one must consider and possibly act upon in order to experience a deeper sense of the presence of God. God Bless!

Storms all around me

“At times there may be storms all around me but there is calm, a peace and a joy in the center of who I am living in and with God.”

Ephesians 3:16   I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, ¹⁷ so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, NIV

How do you know if God exists?

I know that I am alive…I exist…I am writing this letter! And the same with you as you are reading it..you exist.

What are the insurmountable odds and the countless equations that I exist and truly have being? It’s like asking how big the universe is… it’s a countless equation that no one really knows. So too are the odds of our individual existence.

The odds are imposable that I exist but I somehow have beaten all odds for I exist and my existence is proof that I exist. It is this understanding that because I have an existence so to must God exist.

It’s rather simple: if I exist then God must exist. How can I say I exist and that God doesn’t exists? I can’t because the shear fact that I exist is logical and would facilitate an acceptable conclusion that God exists too.

So the next time someone asks you: how do you know if God exists? Tell them because they exist!

Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;

blessed is the person who takes refuge (in) Him.

The way they held each other!

A women and her young daughter were destitute and traveling to another country where they hoped to find a new life.

Three men stole them while they were camping.

They were brought to a city and sold as slaves; each to a different owner.

They were given one minute more together, before their fates became unknown.

My soul clings to God like that, the way they held each other.

Find Yourself

The rare fortune cookie I opened tonight said something so simple but so profound...

“Turn your thoughts within – find yourself”

When I find Him

Sometimes I struggle to find you Lord.

I get on my knees and reach as far as I think I Possibly can for you within my most inner being.

It’s a needy feeling like when I have lost my car keys wondering and looking all over the house for them. I keep searching and finely there you are and behold I have found you o precious one.

I now reflect on another feeling like coming home from a long road trip and my little child sees my car pulling in the driveway. The pure joy I see on her face is also reflected in mine. Rushing towards one another we embrace and momentarily become one in the happiness and complete joy found in the unity of love for each other.

When I find Him, I experience His holy presence as it rushes into my presence. We have found each other in a special place that is difficult to describe with mere words.  But rather I find the mixing of the two to become one in the deepest love we have for one another.

Then it hits me… was I the one seeking Him in the first place or was it He that was seeking me?

Was He the one seeking me first is my question?

Was it you o precious Father that was saying here I am, I am here!

Yes son I am here and can be found right now.

Was it then at that moment I had a yearning to find Him as He called for me.

However it works it’s amazing that the two of us can enter into the oneness of each other. How the creator can perfectly mesh with the created in the vastness of time and space both in the physical and spiritual. He lifts me into His splendor, wonder and joy as He embraces me in our shared presence.

John 14:17 The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. NIV

"Be Thankful"

“Be Thankful” was written by a person with great wisdom and a different twist to it. Interestingly I find my mind a bit resistant to it and it does force me to think in other directions. I wanted to share this with you! God Bless your day!!!

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

Transitioning from the Physical to the Spiritual

Sin basically is my separation from God within me. Separation basically occurs when I am living in my old nature disconnected from God. What is my goal once I begin to understand this? I must start the internal transition of letting go of the fallen self and accept by faith my new life found in the life of Christ. I am in the middle of the transitioning from the physical to the spiritual as I swing from my old disconnected self to the new life that I am living in the life of Christ within.  To live in the eternal moment in the life of Christ is my goal. To stay connected in the life He lives in me and not my old nature that is passing. So I am trying not to live in the past and can’t live the future now. In the moment I find the fullness and oneness I have in Christ Jesus eternal life within me. I try to live conected within Him. For the Father is the constant creator of the eternal moment and has asked me to join Him through and in the life of my savior Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. NIV

Faith over Fear!

Faith is the opposite of fear…

The bedrock of fear is self absorption

The bedrock of faith is non self absorption and the reaching beyond one’s self

Fear is the empty echo of the self talking back to the self.

Faith is the launching pad from one’s self!

Fear is the place one cannot leave within the self.

Faith is the contact point unto God!

Faith over fear is one of my anchor points!

Where do I find God?

Where do I find God when I can’t seem to find Him?

I somehow have misplaced Him and feel empty and desperate for Him. Like a feeling a mother might have when her child is momentarily lost in a crowd. Sometimes trying to find God is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Is God really not near me? Has He abandoned me?        
Why can’t I find Him?

No I believe He is always near me… Rather it is God that is the haystack I am trying to sift through. He is so close that I can’t see Him. I seem to look right through Him not able to see how close He really is to me. He experiences each heart beat, each emotion I feel and             
each moment that I exist.

I am patiently shown by God that He is the beautiful river the runs through the valley floor or looking at me though the eyes of my newborn grandson. But even more interestingly He is found within my very being. He comforts and is found in me as He lives through all my sufferings, all my joys and the life that I am. All I really have to do to find Him is to be “still”. It is there in the stillness He moves and fills me with His ever present love. There He lets me know that He sees me for He is the precious one that is my perfect love story.

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."  NIV

Just Share your Moment

How can we be our own self and live in God at the same time?

“Just share your moment and let Him live you too”

1 John 4:13 We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. NIV

Rest from Our Self

Finding and seeing the busyness of the mind is the breakthrough. It is when we step back and watch the minds activity we begin to understand its movements and wonderings. We can begin to rest from our self and our worries as we learn to be still as we live in the life of Christ within us.

Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." NIV

I Now Live in Him

I fall and I break within the emptiness of myself but am never abandoned

For He is greater than I and I now live in Him.

Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is

the strength of my heart and my portion forever. NIV

God's Temple

My breakthrough is the understanding that God “LIVES” in me.

For I am more than this body, you see.  More than just one

thought strung to the next thought!

My revelation is knowing I “LIVE” in God ! For I am a mind, heart, sprit

and soul that lives in this moment in God!

1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple

and that God's Spirit lives in you? NIV.

Magnificent One

All of creation is generated from the power God produces within Himself. Our Father God relentlessly gives of His life so that we can exist. He is the magnificent one. He is our creator that calls us His children.

Romans 11:36 - From Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

To Him be the glory forever! Amen. NIV
